Middlesex in the Community (MITC) had the pleasure of showcasing Walking Cricket for a second consecutive year on Friday 25 September. The session took place during the lunch interval of Middlesex’s county championship match against Northants and was, unsurprisingly, a huge success.
For cricket to take place it needs scorers and umpires, and Middlesex in the Community used Day 2 of Middlesex’s county championship fixture to thank these volunteers for all their time and effort during the 2026 season.

So there we have it. The first Saturday in September has passed and another season in the rich tapestry of the Middlesex County Cricket League has – unless any clubs are in trouble for misbehaving - been consigned to history. Everyone knows where they stand, can see what they have achieved, has been made aware of their shortcomings and will be using the off-season to make things a little/lot better in 2027.
Richmond Rangers, Richmond Cricket Club’s Middlesex Development League team, became the first club to win the MDL Trophy three times on Sunday (6 September) when they thumped Eastcote by 9 wickets to win the Rakesh Sethi Trophy.
Middlesex County Cricket League club Shepherds Bush CC have qualified for the semi-finals of the ECB National Club Championship with a four-wicket victory over Teddington CC.
The Women’s T20 World Cup fever captured a very tight-knit community in West London on the day of the Final, with Middlesex in the Community & Brent Indian Community Centre coming together to showcase cricket at its ability to unite. Before even a ball was bowled at Lord’s over 60 members of the Indian community in Brent gathered for an afternoon of cricket sessions, food and a World T20 Watch party.
Kicking off their 3rd successive season in the Middlesex Development League - The Middlesex Mavericks began with a commanding performance, defeating Southgate CC in a low scoring contest at the beautiful surrounds of the Walker Ground in North London. The new look team, with just a few players from the previous season – finally got their chance to put their training to the test after months of training indoors at Finchley.
A contingent of participants from Middlesex in the Community played a key part in African Caribbean Cricket Festival 2026 hosted at The County Ground in Beckenham a week before Windrush Day festivities. The event was marked by the presence of former England and West Indian legends who were there to celebrate the rich history and ties of African Caribbean cricket in England.
A few months ago, we shared details of the launch of the Hounslow Community Cricket Partnership which aims to make cricket accessible for children in the borough - inspiring fun participation, building confidence and helping young people to get active. For followers of Middlesex County Cricket Club the cricket season has just entered its second month, but for many, this weekend, the first weekend of fixtures in the Middlesex County Cricket League and Middlesex Premier Cricket League, is when the cricket season really starts.
Middlesex in the Community (MITC) were pleased to deliver its first England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Cricket for Teachers course on Tuesday 24th March. The course welcomed 16 teachers from schools across the County to Oak Wood School in Uxbridge, who kindly hosted MITC for the session.
